The Oakapple Band was formed in 1981 to perform the songs and music for the Mystery plays at local churches. From there they went on to play for barn dances and have built up a reputation for an excellent evening's entertainment.
The Oakapple Band have performed for many events over the years including 'The Sidmouth Folk Festival', 'Easter People' and for the Methodist Association of Youth Clubs London Weekend involving an estimated 10,000 young people.
They have built up a reputation for providing a good evening's entertainment and this is reflected by the number of repeat bookings. Most new bookings come from personal recommendations.
They play all kinds of events such as weddings, birthdays, colleges, church socials, Scouts and Guides, and PTA's to name a few.
Since their formation the Oakapple's have recorded five albums the first two at Woodworm studio's in Oxfordshire – once the home of Fairport Convention.
